Electric Light & Power: Thermal energy storage saves California winery nearly $30k per year

Wilson Creek Winery, best known for its award-winning Almond Champagne, will replace lower-efficiency AC units with more efficient models in tandem with the Ice Bear from Ice Energy, reports Electric Light & Power in a new case study. Temperature control is vital to the aging process of wines, and Wilson Creek's facilities-including a 40,000-square-foot main building used for fermentation, tasting, retail, administration and special events-require cooling eight months of the year.
